Please tell us the date of your function, the approximate number of people the function At Telluride Truffle we take great care in shipping your chocolate so that it arrives in optimum condition. Fine chocolate such as ours which does not utilize waxes to keep chocolate from melting requires special handling. Due to this there are some special considerations of which you should be aware.

When will it ship?

Our cut off time for shipments is noon MST. Therefore all orders received by that time will ship the same shipping day. Orders placed after that time will ship the next shipping day.

FedEx can not deliver to post office boxes. Please double check shipping addresses for accuracy. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible when a box is shipped to the wrong address. If, after placing the order, you realize your mistake email or call us immediately and we will do everything we can to correct it in time.

It is highly recommended to ship to business addresses when possible. That way someone is there to accept the package which is safer all around.

We do not ship outside the United States at this time.

Tracking Numbers

After you place your order you will receive an email from us confirming the order. If you see any errors in the confirmation, contact us immediately. When FedEx picks up the order, you will receive a confirmation of shipment along with the tracking number. Please notify us immediately if it appears the box is delayed. There is little we can do if we are contacted weeks later that the box was never received.

Cooler Climate Shipping

When destinations are below 75 degrees we can ship your order Monday – Friday. For orders placed before our daily cut off time of Noon (mountain time) will attempt to ship same day. For those placed after noon will ship the next shipping day. Additionally when choosing FedEx Ground or USPS it is important to consider the temps the truck will travel through. For instance when shipping to the cool coast of California, consider the truck must drive through the hot desert and therefore will require expedited shipping (see Warmer Climate Shipping below.)

We realize that you may want your gift to be a surprise, but when shipping to warmer climates, this is not advised. Let the recipient know that a box will be arriving which is perishable. FedEx has the option to leave the box at the door if no one is home (or take the box back

and deliver the next day) which negates the care taken in shipping the box and the cost of shipping it quickly. We can not be responsible for boxes that FedEx leaves at the door and are later melted. And this makes us really sad! Also consider shipping to the recipient’s work address where someone usually is there to accept the shipment.

Warmer Climate Shipping

To destinations with warmer climates, we ship only Monday-Wednesday and Thursday when next day air is specified. We pack the chocolate in thermo wrap with ice packs but the shipment must also ship fast. Please choose FedEx 2-day or overnight shipping for warmer climates. We do not ship using USPS to warmer climates because they do not guarantee their shipping times and they often take longer than specified.

When the delivery temp is:
74 to 84 degrees: FedEx 2-day Shipping
85 to 94 degrees: FedEx Overnight
Above 94 degrees: FedEx Overnight Priority (arrives before 10 am next day)

Shipping via United States Postal Service (USPS)

When choosing USPS for Priority Mail Express the shipping times are often longer than you would expect. We have found that often the box will take 3 days or even longer. USPS does not guarantee the shipping times.

Specific Delivery Dates

When it is necessary that an order be received by a certain date, please let us know by either calling us or emailing. However, since emails are not always received, we will acknowledge receipt of your email by emailing you back.

Holiday Shipping

Normally FedEx guarantees their shipping times. Therefore if you pay for overnight shipping and it does not arrive the next day, and weather is not a factor FedEx will reimburse the shipping fee. However, due to high traffic, FedEx does not guarantee shipping speeds from December 10 – 25th (neither does UPS for that matter.) Keep this in mind when paying for very high shipping rates around this time. We hate for people to pay the extra money and not get what they paid for!!

If you have any questions about shipping, you can call us 970-728-9565 or toll free number: 866-543-0108 Mon-Fri 9-5. Or leave us a message because we often check messages over the weekend.
