Important Shipping Information
At Telluride Truffle we take great care in shipping your chocolate so it arrives in optimum condition. Fine chocolate such as ours, which does not utilize waxes to keep chocolate from melting, requires special handling.
Due to this, there are special considerations of which you should be aware.
When will it ship?
Cut off time for shipments is 1 PM MST Monday-Friday. Therefore, all orders received by that time will ship the same shipping day. Orders placed after 1pm will ship the next business day. Shipping days are Monday-Friday. UPS and USPS often do not deliver or ship on weekends. Shipments to climates where the temperature is 77 degrees or higher requires special shipping considerations to protect the chocolate from melting. See Warmer Climate Shipping” below.
Addresses
UPS cannot deliver to post office boxes. If the only address you have is a post office box, choose the USPS option. Please double check shipping addresses for accuracy. Once the box ships, address corrections are often not possible.
Shipping via United States Postal Service (USPS)
When choosing USPS for Priority Mail Express the shipping times are often longer than stipulated by USPS. 2-day is often 3 or 4 day. USPS does not guarantee their shipping times.
Warmer Climate Shipping
To destinations with temps above 77 degrees shipments go out only Monday-Wednesday and Thursday when next day air is specified. We pack the chocolate with ice packs. But ice packs can only help so much – the shipment must also ship fast. Please choose UPS 2-day or overnight shipping for warmer climates. We do not ship using USPS to warmer climates because they do not guarantee their shipping times and they often take longer than specified.
We realize you may want your gift to be a surprise, but when shipping to warmer climates, this is not advised. Let the recipient know a perishable shipment is on the way so someone
can be there to accept the package. If the shipment is left at the door the care and is negated as it sits all day in the heat and melts. It is recommended to ship to business addresses when possible. That way someone is there to accept the package which is safer all around.
When the delivery temp is:
77 to 84 degrees: UPS 2-day Shipping
84 to 94 degrees: UPS Overnight
Above 94 degrees: UPS Overnight Priority (arrives before 2PM next day)
Additionally, when choosing UPS Ground or USPS it is important to consider the temps the truck will travel through. For instance, when shipping to California, consider the truck must drive through the hot desert and therefore will require expedited shipping which is transported by air.
Tracking Numbers
After you place your order, you will receive an email confirming the order. If you see any errors in the confirmation, contact us immediately at 720-596-4136. When UPS picks up the order, you will receive a confirmation of shipment along with the tracking number. If the package is lost, please notify us immediately.
Specific Deliver Dates
When it is necessary that an order be received by a certain date, please let us know by either calling us or emailing. Due to the high volume of orders from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we cannot accommodate special date requests. At this time all orders ship as quickly as possible.
Holiday Shipping
Normally UPS guarantees their shipping times. Therefore, if you pay for overnight shipping and it does not arrive the next day, and weather is not a factor UPS will reimburse the shipping fee. However, due to high traffic, UPS does not guarantee shipping speeds from December 10 – 25th. Keep this in mind when paying for very high shipping rates around this time. We hate for people to pay the extra money and not get what they paid for!!
